Gita Bhattacharya, MD

Loves to:  play golf, play basketball, up for any kind of group sport in general!, sing/play guitar/play music with others, watch anime  

Wants to: go into adult congenital cardiology and continue medical education

Ask me about: moving cross country for residency, favorite all-time bands, my favorite anime, medical education, Celtics vs. Lakers (answer may surprise you!)


Louise Breen, MD

Born: Boston, MA

Education: Brown University, BA (2014); Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, MD (2023)

Loves to: Go to the beach especially in Ogunquit, play board games, watch college basketball, and play any and all sports.

Wants to: Keep an open mind about interests and career paths during residency! Right now I’d love to work with individuals with chronic conditions (not sure which condition(s) yet!) across their lifespan. I’m particularly interested in the psychosocial aspects of chronic diseases during adolescence and young adulthood. I also want to teach and learn more about med ed.

Sarah Ferreira, MD

Loves to: Cook, bake, watch shows about baking, read and travel!

Wants to: Clinically, I want to provide longitudinal care to patients, with a specific focus during transitional age. I am also very interested in cardiology, so I hope to explore the world of adult
congenital heart disease. Finally, I am very passionate about working
with patients from underserved backgrounds and want to develop
trusting relationships with my patients.

Brenda Varriano, MD

Born: Sonsonate El Salvador; Raised in Ontario, Canada

Education: University of Toronto, HBs; University of Toronto – Institute of Medical Science, MSc; Central Michigan College of Medicine, MD

Loves to: As a fitness enthusiast and food lover, I take pleasure in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. I enjoy all forms of fitness, such as boxing, yoga, running, and weightlifting.

Wants to: I have a strong interest in obesity medicine and culinary medicine and aspire to conduct research in these areas. I hope to complete a global elective in a blue-zone region of the world and see how different lifestyles may contribute to longevity. Although I am open to any opportunities that come my way, I have a particular fascination with Med-Peds hospitalist medicine.
