Interview Invitations – A Message from Dr. Galvez, Program Director

Dear applicants,

Thank you so much for sharing your impressive applications with our program.  The talent pool is incredible this year and we want to be sure each applicant gets a thoughtful holistic review.  As a result, we wanted to inform everyone that we won’t be offering invitations until October 12, 2023. We appreciate your patience.

Every Best Wish,

Evangeline M. Galvez, MD

Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, MGH Revere Healthcare Center
Program Director, Harvard MGH Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency

Interview Dates:

  • Monday, November 13, 2023 (Late Start – start time TBA)
  • Tuesday, November 21, 2203 (8:00AM EST)
  • Thursday, December 14, 2023 (8:00AM EST)
  • Monday, December 18, 2023 (8:00AM EST)

We do not use a first-come, first-served approach to scheduling interviews and will be sending out a form asking applicants for their top 3 interview date preferences.

Scheduling: Our program will host four interview days with a Med-Peds-specific virtual social the evening before the interview. There are additional optional happy hours selected applicants can attend with the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics Residencies. Attendance at these additional socials will not sway the decision-making process.

Second Looks: We are currently not hosting second looks.

The Review Process

Please know we take a holistic approach to the review process and will communicate with all applicants via ERAS towards the end of the week. Thank you for your patience as we pour over so many incredible applications

We remain steadfast in our efforts for equity, inclusivity, and transparency.

General Information

The Harvard MGH Med-Peds Program participates in the National Resident Match Program (NRMP).

Our Internship Selection Committee is composed of the program director and associate program director, training program directors of the sponsoring services, Med-Peds faculty, and the Med-Peds Chief Resident. Invitations for personal interviews are issued only after an applicant’s file is completed (including Dean’s Letter), and reviewed by the Internship Selection Committee. The Committee’s selection criteria reflect the program’s mission to train medicine-pediatrics physicians. Four interns will be matched into the Harvard MGH Residency.

Interviews are conducted over one day. The Harvard MGH Med-Peds Program is committed to diversity within its faculty and staff. In addition to applying to the Medicine-Pediatrics Program, if you wish to apply to one of the categorical or primary care programs of the Massachusetts General Hospital Medical or Pediatric Services, please let us know and we will coordinate the application and interview process to the best of our ability.
